VHS Announces Mega Raffle Winners

Valley Health Services (VHS) in Herkimer is pleased to announce the winners of their mega raffle "Do Whatever Makes You Happy!" The five winners, based on the order of the draw, each chose a themed category filled with prizes that did make them happy.

Al Varlaro of Herkimer chose "Spiff Up Your Home!" and won gift certificates from Adirondack Furniture ($500); Johnson's Carpets Plus Color Tile/Freeman's Drapery ($300); Collis Hardware ($100 for paint); Medya Light ($100); Bed, Bath & Beyond ($100) and a book "DeClutter Your Life NOW" with a $25 gift certificate from DeClutter Coach Deb Cabral.

Tracy DeCarr of Whitesboro picked "A Little Taste of Heaven!" and received $75.00 gift certificates from Canal Side Inn, The Willows, Bella Vista, The Tailor & The Cook, Beardslee Castle, Fairways Restaurant at MVCC and Café CaNole.

Regina DeRocco Osley of Herkimer chose "It's All About Me, Myself and I" and won an overnight stay for two at Overlook Mansion with breakfast; a pedicure, manicure and facial at Revelations Salon & Spa; one-hour Swedish massage with hot stone finish at "Miracles of Massage;" shopping gift certificates from Macy's, Land's End and Gap ($125 value); and a $25 gift certificate for lunch or dinner at Café Del Buono.

Mary Schwasnick of Little Falls chose "Get Started … Make It A Fun Day!" and won a car starter and installation from Skinner Sales; a gift certificate ($50) from Custom Auto Cleaning & Detailing; an Ogio backpack/travel bag on wheels; four passes to a Syracuse University football game and autographed football by SU Head Coach Shafer; and four admission tickets to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and four Hall of Fame annual yearbooks.

Barbara Cooledge of Mohawk received the golfing package "On The Greens!" including a Wilson Lite Carry Golf Bag and golf passes for 18-hole greens fees from Thendara (for 4), McConnellsville (for 4), Barker Brook (for 4), Mohawk Valley Country Club (for 4), Heron Creek (9 holes with cart for 4), Inlet (for 2 with cart), Holland Heights (for 2), Pine Hills (for 2) and Stonebridge (for 2).

"This mega raffle was very exciting because people did win some terrific prizes, and VHS was able to raise $6,600 that will directly benefit the residents and outpatients we serve," commented VHS CEO/Administrator Lisa Betrus. "We are deeply grateful to Steet-Ponte Chevrolet for their sponsorship and everyone who so generously donated all the extraordinary prizes in support of this raffle! The entire raffle was very well received throughout the community, and we hope to offer it again next year."
